Treatment options have dramatically changed over the years for the completely edentulous patient. Rehabilitation concepts have evolved such that more patients can be treated with less invasive surgical procedures. Numerous implant solutions now exist that can alter patient care dramatically and often enable immediate function. The use of tilted implants and zygoma implants will be reviewed in context with treatment planning for complete edentulism.
- Describe the rational for graftless implant solutions;
- Differentiate when to consider the use of zygoma implants versus tilted implants; and
- Review treatment planning for the completely edentulous patient both from the surgical and restorative perspectives.
