Synopsis

Bone loss associated with implant failures and tooth loss can have a devastating effect on the esthetic outcome of treatment. This lecture will focus on how to identify and avoid potential esthetic complications before they arise. The discussion will also include an algorithm to effectively manage severe bone defects to avoid esthetic failures. Emphasis will be given to risk assessment and proper treatment planning principles.

Learning Objectives
  1. Identify pre-operative risk assessment;
  2. Avoid esthetic complications; and
  3. Describe the management of the ailing implants (labial tissue recession, esthetic failures, etc.)
