Synopsis

This session will discuss assessment of the airway, identification of the difficult airway, and airway management with IV sedation. In addition it will consider those patients who present in the office setting and thoughts/tests to differentiate those we can versus those we cannot treat in the office. The session will also cover management of the difficult airway with IV sedation.

  1. Assess the airway;
  2. Identify the patient with the difficult airway;
  3. Manage the airway in the patient with IV sedation; and
  4. Manage the patient with the difficult airway with IV sedation.
