Participants will examine the full range of management options for patients with temporomandibular joint internal derangement and osteoarthritis. Discussion will include initial evaluation and medical management, minimally invasive surgical techniques and end-stage reconstruction. This contemporary update on TMJ patient management will also focus on techniques and treatment algorithms for the practicing surgeon utilizing an evidence-based approach from initial patient presentation through end-stage disease.
- Discuss the evaluation and management of patients presenting with TMJ OA/ID and review evidence-based treatment strategies for the initial medical and non-surgical management of this patient population;
- Discuss arthrocentesis and arthroscopic surgical treatment options available for patients with TMJ OA/ID and review indications, complications, and recent clinical outcome trials for minimally invasive treatments; and
- Discuss the management of patients with end-stage ID/OA of the TMJ including treatment options and management strategies.
