The speaker will present a new optically guided surgical system that utilizes optical and has two components: A surgical image viewing system that improves the view of the surgical field and a dynamic image navigation system. Implementation steps will be reviewed, including image acquisition, treatment planning, patient and instrument registration, and surgery.
- Distinguish between dynamic and static image navigation surgery for dental implant placement and what the current literature states regarding their accuracy and clinical outcome;
- Identify the indications and challenges for using an optically guided surgical system and the challenges for its use; and
- Identify the treatment sequence required to utilize an optically guided surgical system for dental implant placement, including image acquisition, treatment planning, patient and instrument registration, and surgery.
