The speaker will discuss the efficacy and safety of the single provider surgeon and anesthetist model, and will present the equipment, supplies and delivery modalities required to safely provide anesthesia while simultaneously providing oral and maxillofacial surgery services. Current guidelines and parameters of care regarding the delivery of anesthesia in the oral surgery practice will also be reviewed.
- Evaluate and equip their office to provide anesthesia in a safe and effective manner;
- Understand the complexities of simultaneously managing an anesthetic while performing an oral and maxillofacial procedure; and
- Establish protocols for the safe delivery of simultaneous anesthesia and oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures in the office.
