Synopsis

This presentation presents a new approach using 3D cone-beam CT(CBCT)-based treatment planning in the surgical correction of facial deformities in conjunction with the “surgery first" approach. A very good esthetic and occlusal outcome can be obtained with orthognathic surgery and orthodontics within a very short treatment time.

Learning Objectives
  1. Assess the application of 3D virtual planning to orthognathic surgery; and
  2. Evaluate the application of a "surgery first" protocol to orthognathic surgery.
