    Synopsis

    Surgical uprighting of impacted second molars, indications and current techniques of apical surgery, and improved outcomes with skeletal anchorage plates will be presented with specific clinical techniques and long-term outcomes. The long-term clinical outcomes of coronectomy surgery will also be presented, as will flap design and suturing to improve access and reduce recession.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Perform surgical uprighting of second molar impactions;
    2. Determine appropriate treatment strategies for teeth with apical pathology; and
    3. Recognize the clinical indications for coronectomy and perform this surgical procedure.
