Surgical uprighting of impacted second molars, indications and current techniques of apical surgery, and improved outcomes with skeletal anchorage plates will be presented with specific clinical techniques and long-term outcomes. The long-term clinical outcomes of coronectomy surgery will also be presented, as will flap design and suturing to improve access and reduce recession.
- Perform surgical uprighting of second molar impactions;
- Determine appropriate treatment strategies for teeth with apical pathology; and
- Recognize the clinical indications for coronectomy and perform this surgical procedure.
