    Synopsis

    The speaker will provide background on how HIPAA and EHR are helping to shape the healthcare landscape, while planning the conceptual and practical aspects of designing, implementing, deploying and maintaining a secure environment for ePHI, HIPAA and dental technologies.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Educate staff on HIPAA requirements and expectations, and the necessary steps to protect patient's Protected Health Information (PHI);
    2. Implement technological procedures and safeguards to address all applicable HIPAA requirements for securing the PHI of patients; and
    3. Complete a technical risk assessment within their organization to identify and address vulnerabilities.
