    Synopsis

    The speakers will present an update and review of the anatomy and surgery of maxillofacial infections, including initial evaluation, anatomy, likely spread, appropriate setting of care, airway security, surgical approaches and complications. Unusual infections are presented, including osteomyelitis, Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS), necrotizing fasciitis, and MRONJ.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Identify the anatomic location and ideal surgical approaches to a given maxillofacial infection;
    2. Choose an appropriate method of airway management for a given infection; and
    3. Promptly recognize and provide appropriate treatment for unusual infections, such as osteomyelitis, SIRS, necrotizing fasciitis and MRONJ.
