    Synopsis

    The speakers will review the OMSNIC closed claims from 2000-2012 to identify the top 10, including identified causes of office-based anesthesia deaths and strategies for recognizing, managing adverse events.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Identify the 10 most common causes of anesthesia-related deaths in the office;
    2. Prevent anesthesia-related complications with astute patient selection and management strategies for common potentially serious anesthesia complications; and
    3. Explain the importance of end tidal CO2 in monitoring patients during anesthesia.
