The management of disease has changed as the result of new diagnostic studies, new medications and the incorporation of evidence-based medicine in patient management. Using case-based scenarios, the speakers will discuss current guidelines and recommendations for the effective management of surgical patients in the office and the hospital.
- Discuss currently understood guidelines and recommendations for the safe and effective management of surgical patients with significant systemic disease;
- Incorporate new evidence-based medical management guidelines into the management of patients undergoing office based or hospital surgery; and
- Describe the use of newer medications for the treatment of medical conditions in the perioperative patient.
