Synopsis
Advances in gene sequencing of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) will allow us to better anticipate the behavior of tumor based on their genetic profile and to better select chemotherapeutic targets for better outcomes. The immune system is being leveraged against head and neck tumors. These strategies include the development of individualized tumor vaccines.
Learning Objectives
- To describe the influence genomic sequencing in management of head and neck cancer;
- To understand the role of immunotherapy in anti-tumor therapy; and
- To identify current strategies in personalized head and neck cancer treatment.
