This course is sold out. This session will consider many options to effectively provisionalize the immediate implant, including cement-retained and screw-retained provisionals, utilizing either temporary abutments or definitive abutments. Techniques for utilizing prefabricated crown forms and vacu-formed matrices will be discussed, and material choices, such as poly-methylmethacrylate (PMMA) acrylic resins and dimethacrylate (Bis GMA) composite resins will be presented. The advantages and disadvantages of the different techniques and different materials will be analyzed.
This session will break from 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM.
- Describe fabrication of provisional restorations to load immediate implants;
- Discuss PMMA and Bis GMA provisional resin materials;
- Cite the advantages and disadvantages of screw-retained and cement-retained provisional restorations; and
- Determine which type of provisional restoration to routinely use.
