This session will discuss the most common complications that are encountered with dental implant placement, including cement issues, periimplantitis, gingival inflammation secondary to soft tissue problems, and bone resorption after the restoration is placed. Solutions to these complications and the procedures that can be performed prior to or during implant placement to avoid the complications will be presented.

This session will break from 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM.

1. Describe the preoperative findings that predict future problems;
2. Identify the appropriate procedures to prevent complications; and
3. Identify methods for treating common complications.
