Synopsis

This course is sold out. Soft tissue grafting and other periodontal procedures are necessary to improve the esthetic around natural teeth and implants. Patients often present with tissue deficiency in regards to quality and quantity of the gingivae. Other patients present with tissue excess (also known as the "gummy smile"). This course will review predictable techniques to address these problems. It will allow participants to acquire a periodontal perspective and complement their oral surgery and implant procedures. Participants will learn about root coverage techniques as well as improving the soft tissue quality of prospective implant sites. Other techniques will demonstrate improvement of emergence profile of implant restorations and various implant uncovering techniques. The course will enhance the knowledge of oral surgeons to provide comprehensive and predictable esthetic outcomes for patients.

Please note: This is a hands-on course requiring attendees to work with pig and sheep jaws.

Learning Objectives
  1. Identify the soft tissue problems that are commonly encountered in the esthetic zone;
  2. Recognize how to perform multiple procedures to address soft tissue concerns in the esthetic zone; and
  3. Recognize how to perform these procedures on their patients in their practice.
