OMS Seminar: Risk Management for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

This course will explore topics including emergency preparedness, nerve injury, medication management, infection, and failure to diagnose through a comprehensive analysis of oral and maxillofacial surgery claims. At the conclusion of the course, attendees will understand how to implement key clinical risk management strategies to help mitigate associated risk factors, improve patient safety, and reduce untoward outcomes and malpractice claims.

Staff Seminar: Protecting Your Patients through Team Risk Management
1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Office staff plays a pivotal supportive role in increasing patient safety and patient satisfaction. This two-hour course promotes a team approach to addressing risk management issues including patient communication challenges, documentation and informed consent, HIPAA/HITECH basics, as well as emergency prevention and preparedness.
