Residency is primarily focused creating a foundation centered on patient management, core- curriculum didactics, and surgical technique. Despite the confidence, competence, and readiness residents develop as a result of their comprehensive training, the transition from residency to practice is often uniquely challenging. This program provides graduating residents with essential, non-clinical information that will them a prosperous career in OMS. In addition, residents will be educated about board certification and the board certification process.
- Understand key elements in communication and negotiation during contract resolution;
- Develop an appreciation for alternative practice models;
- Recognize the importance of selecting an appropriate practice model that will bring personal fulfillment while ensuring financial success; and
- Explain the board certification process and deadlines.
