Synopsis

Residency is primarily focused creating a foundation centered on patient management, core- curriculum didactics, and surgical technique. Despite the confidence, competence, and readiness residents develop as a result of their comprehensive training, the transition from residency to practice is often uniquely challenging. This program provides graduating residents with essential, non-clinical information that will them a prosperous career in OMS. In addition, residents will be educated about board certification and the board certification process.

Learning Objectives
  1. Understand key elements in communication and negotiation during contract resolution;
  2. Develop an appreciation for alternative practice models;
  3. Recognize the importance of selecting an appropriate practice model that will bring personal fulfillment while ensuring financial success; and
  4. Explain the board certification process and deadlines.
