Synopsis

Technology has driven advances in the care of the oral and maxillofacial surgery patient. Management of malignant and pre-malignant lesions has seen improved techniques for imaging, noninvasive (transoral robotic surgery) and molecular treatment. Regenerative capabilities using stem cells have the potential to change the way we approach common conditions.

Learning Objectives
  1. Assess advances in the diagnosis and management of head and neck cancer;
  2. Identify potential strategies for immunologic therapy in oral cancer; and
  3. Recognize advances in regenerative capabilities for the maxillofacial region.
