Synopsis

This CIG education program will address three relevant topics within the realm of oral and maxillofacial reconstruction in a point-counterpoint format that discusses various surgical management strategies.

Learning Objectives
  1. Identify and describe advanced stage MRONJ when to apply advanced reconstructive techniques to improve patients' quality of life and functional outcomes;
  2. Describe the various techniques of maxillary reconstruction following tumor ablative defects and indications for use of surgical obturator and autogenous tissue reconstruction, including locoregional and vascularized free tissue transfer; and
  3. Understand the benefits and limitations of various reconstructive techniques for temporomandibular joint reconstruction following benign and malignant pathologic tumor defects.
