Synopsis

Virtual surgical planning (VSP) has altered the landscape of surgical treatment planning for orthognathic and reconstructive surgery. This program will discuss clinical indications for use of VSP, data gathering, and common pitfalls encountered with use of VSP. Panel discussion on management of challenging cases will be included.

Learning Objectives
  1. Discuss the use of different VSP programs and contrast with traditional methods of orthognathic surgery treatment planning;
  2. Discuss the important points during physical examination and data gathering which affect VSP; and
  3. Develop a virtual surgical plan, understanding common pitfalls which may alter surgical outcome.
