The symposium will provide an overview of trauma management from historical treatment to current innovations.

1. Discuss new innovative thoughts on the use of internal fixations, past and present;
2. Discuss the reevaluation of previous thoughts versus current considerations in the utilization of maxillomandibular fixation;
3. Identify the current perspective on treatment of not-to-be-forgotten soft tissue injuries overlying skeletal trauma; and
4. Explain the utilization of digital 3D diagnosis and treatment planning in the urgent/emergent setting.
