Synopsis

The management of condylar fractures has been an ongoing source of controversy. This lecture will provide an evidence-based approach to determine the treatment of choice: Open or Closed - pointing out the indications, contraindications, advantages and disadvantages of each approach.

  1. Treat condyle fractures based on current evidence;
  2. Identify the indications and contraindications of open versus closed treatment of condyle fractures; and
  3. Recognize the advantages and disadvantages of various treatments using contemporary surgical techniques.
