The approach to the cleft lip and nose deformity will be discussed with attention to primary nasal reconstruction coincident with repair of the lip deformity. Techniques for correction of both unilateral and bilateral deformities will be put forth.

1. Diagnose and provide treatment of cleft lip deformity;
2. Provide primary surgical correction of the nasal deformity concomitant with the lip deformity; and
3. Identify and avoid untoward results of cleft lip correction.
