    Synopsis

    This course has a maximum of 180 seats. Courtesy tickets are no longer available for this course.
    Recombinant Human Bone Morphogenetic Protein (rhBMP-2) regenerates normal bone de novo without the need and added morbidity of bone harvesting. Now ridge preservations, ridge augmentations, sinus lift surgeries and even continuity defects can be reconstructed in such grafting using tissue engineering directly in the patient, which is referred to as in situ tissue engineering.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Dicuss growth factors and bone regeneration through tissue engineering;
    2. Demonstrate greater competence in using rhBMP-2 and the best surgical techniques to enhance their performance; and
    3. Achieve a quality and quantity of bone regeneration for jaw reconstruction without using autonomous bone
