Synopsis

Treatment of the patient with obstructive sleep apnea should be logically-sequenced, value-driven, and based on evidence available in the medical literature. This session will present a number of complex cases and describe the medical and surgical treatment plans utilized, with an emphasis on an evidence-based approach.

Learning Objectives
  1. Successfully manage the patient presenting with a diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea in terms of recommending the most appropriate therapy while avoiding those treatments that are unlikely to be therapeutically helpful; and
  2. Describe the evidence available in the medical or surgical literature to support both treatments the OMS may offer, such as MMA, as well as treatments available from other providers.
