Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) has created numerous dilemmas in patient management and may have a broad health impact for patients undergoing antiresorptive therapy. This case-based presentation will review evidence-based and innovative strategies for risk assessment, prevention and management of MRONJ with related outcomes and complications.
- Describe how to navigate the oral health and medical dilemmas associated with patients who undergo antiresorptive therapy;
- Review and compare alternative management options for patients with various stages of osteonecrosis, providing high quality outcomes that include improving oral health and quality of life; and
- Recognize anatomic changes, risk factors and potential complications that impact outcome when treating MRONJ.
