    Synopsis

    This lecture will be focused on the technical errors of the 3D splint fabrication process with VMS and its clinical reliability compared to conventional AMS. Objective evaluation of the surgical accuracy of VMS will be helpful for the clinician to understand the new technical application in orthognathic field.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Understand the errors related with the conventional articulator model surgery;
    2. Summarize the concepts of virtual model surgery steps; and
    3. Discuss potential limitations of 3D virtual model surgery in maxillary surgery and suggest future direction of development to overcome these limitations.
