This presentation will discuss the use of bimaxillary surgery to treat not only the occlusion but the face. The topics to be discussed are sequencing bimaxillary surgery (i.e. maxilla first vs mandible first), and methods of working up and performing surgery that can assure a predictable outcome.

Learning Objectives
  1. Recognize when to employ bimaxillary vs monomaxillary surgery;
  2. Describe the advantages and disadvantages of the different methods for sequencing bimaxillary surgery; and
  3. Identify the potential errors that can occur during the work-up and the surgery that can lead to unfavorable outcomes.
