    Synopsis

    Using a computer-aided surgical simulation (CASS) method for orthognathic surgery, surgeons can perform virtual surgery, create a 3D prediction of patients’ surgical outcomes and transfer the plan to the patient at the time of surgery. This new method eliminates problems associated with the current planning methods.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Discuss the principles and clinical protocol of CASS;
    2. Discuss the advantages, disadvantages and indications and limitations of this technology; and
    3. Review objective data comparing actual outcomes obtained using this technology.
