Synopsis
Reconstruction of the jaw using titanium mesh (Ti-mesh) tray and particulate cancellous bone and marrow (PCBM) from the ilium will be presented. A 3-dimensional (3-D) skull model was constructed using a 3-D printer. A custom-made Ti-mesh tray and PCBM was used for the ideal reconstruction of mandible as well as maxilla. New concept of dynamic GBR using Ti-mesh will also be presented.
Learning Objectives
- Describe 3-D reconstruction using titanium mesh (Ti-mesh) and PCBM of the jaw;
- Describe the ideal reconstruction using 3-D virtual skull model;
- Identify the limitations and complications of this reconstruction method; and
- Apply the concept of dynamic GBR using Ti-mesh.
