Synopsis

Gram for gram the eye holds more diagnostic information than any other part of the body, and cosmetically minded patients spend more attention to their eyes than any other body part. Therefore surgeons interested in facial cosmetic surgery will be interested in this in-depth update on blepharoplasty. There is not one special technique that fits all people. This symposium will address several different methods of periorbital rejuvenation and discuss a blend of East/West cultural trends.

Learning Objectives
  1. Evaluate and examine the aging eye and surrounding structures;
  2. Describe the regional anatomy of the orbit;
  3. Describe the indications and contraindications for blepharoplasty;
  4. Develop new techniques for the Asian and Western eye lid;
  5. Discuss periorbital rejuvenation with minimally invasive procedures and techniques; and
  6. Describe and avoid complications of blepharoplasty.
