Synopsis

This program will focus on the current understanding of the pathophysiology of osteoarthritis with an emphasis on temporomandibular joint disease. Recent advances in the orthopedic literature will be explored for their potential application and translation to temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis and internal derangement. Priority will be placed on potential disease biomarkers and novel therapeutic interventions.

Learning Objectives
  1. Relate recent advances in the pathophysiology of osteoarthritis;
  2. Explore novel therapeutics for osteoarthritis currently under investigation in the orthopedic literature; and
  3. Discuss potential avenues for clinical and translational research of osteoarthritis and internal derangement of the temporomandibular joint.
