Synopsis
The purpose of this session is to discuss the literature regarding hybrid restorations, and to provide a simple step-by-step guideline both for surgical and prosthetic rehabilitation using this technique. Extensive residual ridge resorption is one of the many problems in prosthetic dentistry, Implant-supported restorations in front of the maxillary sinus and mental foramen provide a viable alternative for management of the edentoulus patient.
Learning Objectives
- Treatment plan a case for hybrid restoration of the maxilla and or mandible;
- Implement the surgical and prosthetic steps to predictably prepare a hybrid restoration; and
- Discuss and defend the literature that supports the use of fixed detachable prostheses.
