Synopsis

Predictable horizontal ridge augmentation with a viable bone flap allows an elegant and minimally invasive dental implant reconstruction. Clinical advances, including office-based CBCT, greatly facilitate diagnosis and surgery. We will present various applications of ridge expansion in the esthetic zone and posterior regions to enhance patient care.

Learning Objectives
  1. Contrast healing at RE bone flap with horizontal augmentation and GBR;
  2. Demonstrate application of CBCT and clinical evaluation to select optimal horizontal augmentation technique; and
  3. Discuss instrumentation, technique selection and modifications based on esthetic demands.
