    Synopsis

    Facial asymmetries are commonly caused by TMJ pathology and usually include unilateral condylar enlargement or condylar resorption. This presentation will differentiate the common etiologies, methods of diagnosis including clinical and imaging modalities, and present treatment options derived from evidence-based protocols.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Describe the multiple TMJ pathologies that cause facial asymmetry;
    2. Diagnose the common causes of facial asymmetry that involve the TMJ; and
    3. Explain the evidence-based treatment protocols and expected outcomes for managing the common causes of facial asymmetry.
