Synopsis
This lecture will present a detailed description of the implant-driven surgical technique of the alveolar ridge-split procedure intended for small and large bone deficiencies in the maxilla and mandible. The lecture will be supplemented by multiple case reports.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the causes of alveolar bone loss and the selection criteria for deficient alveolar ridges that can be best treated with the ridge-split procedure;
- Understand the differences between maxillary and mandibular ridge-split procedures; and
- Add the ridge-split procedure to his/her surgical armamentarium.
