    Synopsis

    This lecture will present a detailed description of the implant-driven surgical technique of the alveolar ridge-split procedure intended for small and large bone deficiencies in the maxilla and mandible. The lecture will be supplemented by multiple case reports.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Understand the causes of alveolar bone loss and the selection criteria for deficient alveolar ridges that can be best treated with the ridge-split procedure;
    2. Understand the differences between maxillary and mandibular ridge-split procedures; and
    3. Add the ridge-split procedure to his/her surgical armamentarium.
