Synopsis
This course provides an update and review of significant pathogens, antibiotic resistance patterns, and new and familiar antibiotics. Best practices for antibiotic therapy are identified, including culturing, empiric antibiotics, prophylactic antibiotics, minimizing antibiotic resistance and highly resistant organisms. Important issues in the pharmacology of antibiotics and antibiotics in development are discussed.
