    Synopsis

    Update existing infection control practices to meet current CDC Guidelines. Hands-on demonstrations provide the participant with important tips on infection control and motivation to strive for infection control excellence. Take-aways include an infection control checklist, instrument processing protocol and other helpful resources for OMS infection control and safety.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Locate and identify key CDC recommendations as they pertain to OMS settings and as required by state and federal regulations;
    2. Describe the basic concept of infection control, explain appropriate techniques for sterilization and disinfection, understand how gaps in infection control occur and how to prevent them;
    3. Discuss methods for spore testing; and
    4. Explain what to do in the event of a positive spore test result.
