Synopsis

The management of third molars continues to be controversial. Costs and morbidity have been used as arguments to negate their removal. A great deal of new evidence has become available over the last 10 years. This symposium will focus on the scientific evidence behind management of impacted third molars.

Learning Objectives
  1. Describe the development and natural history of impacted third molars;
  2. Demonstrate familiarity with the current literature concerning impacted third molars; and
  3. Develop a treatment philosophy based on current scientific evidence.
