Synopsis

This program will consider recent team approaches to cleft and craniofacial care and include presentations from oral and maxillofacial surgeons, speech pathologists, and orthodontists on how these specialties contribute to team care in repair of cleft lip and palate, bone grafting in alveolar clefts, orthognathic surgery, cranial vault and revision surgery. In addition, considerations for speech and orthodontics will be presented.

Learning Objectives
  1. Apply updated team approaches to cleft and craniofacial care;
  2. Recognize when it is necessary that a patient receive treatment from a cleft and craniofacial team, including surgeon, speech pathologist, and orthodontist; and
  3. Utilize team approaches to cleft and craniofacial care to help impact desired patient outcomes.
