    Synopsis

    This presentation reviews what it means to make your associate your partner and the obligations that you undertake to each other. It covers what it means to be a "partner," to sell an interest in the practice and how to structure the transaction.

    1. Explain what makes your practice valuable to you and your partners, and how to realize those values in a buy-in;
    2. Describe how to value your practice fairly and to structure fair financial relationships for buying in; and
    3. Discuss how buy-outs are commonly structured to make them fair to both the exiting member and the remaining members.
