    Synopsis

    Lack of compliance with HIPAA regulations – whether intentional or not – can be costly to your practice’s bottom line. This course is designed to meet the Department of Health and Human Services requirement for annual training for the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules. Participants will receive a compliance checklist, as well as practical tips to meet the requirements. Protect your practice from potential liability and your patients from privacy and security breaches.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Evaluate their current level of compliance with the training, documentation and implementation requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rules;
    2. Conduct a security risk assessment as required by the HIPAA Security Rules; and
    3. Assess their current protocols for security breaches, data backup and recovery, and tracking access to patients' electronic data.
