    Synopsis

    Employee claims are one of the faster growing areas of legal disputes in the ambulatory surgical office. Having a fundamental understanding of the legal requirements and acceptable management is essential to avoiding lawsuits and labor board claims. This program will review the law and provide guidance and tips on staff management and protocols for claims avoidance and installation of protective policies.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Install protective protocols relating to staff hiring, termination and management policies;
    2. Institute policies and implement documentation programs to prevent or address issues of discrimination and harassment; and
    3. Adapt working schedules and benefits while complying with legal requirements.
