    Synopsis

    Economic uncertainty has fostered an urgency to address financial and investment planning. New strategies have been developed and old ones rediscovered. This session will address strategies for oral surgeons who want to create a sound financial position.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Evaluate ideas to manage income, control spending, create a cash cushion, pay off debt, minimize taxes and create systematic savings for retirement and education goals;
    2. Determine how much money might be required for retirement and education, and develop strategies to fund these needs;
    3. Discuss personal financial risk, types of insurance policies, how to determine amounts of coverage, recent changes in the market, and often ignored but important coverage; and
    4. Discuss estate planning and asset protection strategies including wills and types of trusts, minimization of estate taxes and transfer costs, and gifting strategies to enhance legacy.
