    Synopsis

    This session will review in a step-by-step fashion the surgical technique of coronectomy (partial odontectomy or intentional/deliberate third molar root retention) that is employed in cases where the risk of IAN injury is highly probable.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Identify the cases in which coronectomy is indicated;
    2. Master the technique of coronectomy and appreciate the rationale behind each step of the procedure; and
    3. Manage appropriately any intraoperative, early and late complications of the procedure.
