Synopsis
Over the past 15 years, the speakers have developed surgical protocols and performed over 4,000 orthognathic procedures (both single and double jaw) in their ambulatory center with discharg in the afternoon. They will discuss anesthetic and surgical protocols used to avoid complications and increase functional and esthetic results, while significantly reducing the cost involved.
Learning Objectives
- Identify orthognathic procedures that can be performed safely in an ambulatory setting;
- Outline the anesthetic considerations for performing select orthognathic procedures in an ambulatory setting; and
- Evaluate the patient prior to discharge to ensure safety.
