Synopsis

Traditional delayed loading techniques and two-stage implant placement techniques have become less popular during the last few years. Patients are looking for treatment options that avoid multiple surgeries and prolonged treatment. Current trends in implant design, different loading approaches and related prosthetic options will be discussed.

Learning Objectives
  1. Describe the unique design features of all major implant systems used for immediate load;
  2. Describe different prosthetic designs that are suitable for immediately loading the supporting implants; and
  3. Describe different occlusal schemes used for fully edentulous patients and analyze advantages and disadvantages of each occlusal scheme.
