Synopsis
This session will review relatively uncommon clinical presentations of common pathologic entities, both benign and malignant, that can potentially be overlooked in routine practice. The discussion will include strategies to avoid errors in diagnosis, treatment and follow-up surveillance for tumors and potentially malignant disorders.
Learning Objectives
- Identify lesions and conditions that appear innocuous under routine clinical examination;
- Identify potential biases in clinical decision making that may delay or complicate diagnosis and treatment of common conditions with uncommon presentations; and
- Describe the recommended surveillance for pathologically proven benign lesions with malignant potential.
