Synopsis
This presentation will challenge concepts relating to the accrual of medical history, focused patient assessment, provider ability and efficacy of anesthetic team functioning, and serve as a guide for appropriate selection of both patient and anesthetic technique. Updates on commonly presenting pathophysiology will be provided.
Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate clinical familiarity with common medical and anatomic problems as a basis for selection of both patient and anesthetic technique for office-based procedures;
- Recognize the importance and significance of a pre-anesthetic airway evaluation; and
- Orchestrate and rehearse a coordinated team response to anesthetic emergencies.
