    Synopsis

    This presentation will challenge concepts relating to the accrual of medical history, focused patient assessment, provider ability and efficacy of anesthetic team functioning, and serve as a guide for appropriate selection of both patient and anesthetic technique. Updates on commonly presenting pathophysiology will be provided.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Demonstrate clinical familiarity with common medical and anatomic problems as a basis for selection of both patient and anesthetic technique for office-based procedures;
    2. Recognize the importance and significance of a pre-anesthetic airway evaluation; and
    3. Orchestrate and rehearse a coordinated team response to anesthetic emergencies.
